Jacks Pass Test at SVSU
ACC baseball's fall season continued with a tough test at NCAA Division 2 Saginaw Valley State University. The Lumberjacks lost both contests but impressed in 3-1 and 7-5 losses.

In the nightcap, ACC took a 5-2 lead in the top of the third, with a four-run inning. With one out, Mitchell Walters walked, stole second and move up to third on a wild pitch. Nate Koster then also walked and stole second. Matt Thompson lined a single to left, scoring Walters. Following a strikeout, Corey Victor had a two-out single, scoring Koster and Thompson alertly advanced to third. Evan Fairbanks then doubled in both Thompson and Victor.
Walters singled, stole four bases and scored twice on the day. Victor was the only Lumberjack with two hits. Hunter Kosmerick had the other ACC hit.
Grant Slater threw three shutout innings in relief in game one. Brock Wing struck out four in three innings of work. Brandon Maddox threw 2/3 no-hit innings in relief in game two.
ACC returns to action next weekend with the first annual Lumber (vs.) Jacks Intersquad World Series on Friday and Saturday at Veteran's Field in Ossineke.
EDIT - An earlier version of this story showed a different final score for game 2. The two teams agreed to play a scrimmage half-inning after the game had been concluded.
